J.S. Bach’s The Well-Tempered Clavier is a set of 24 preludes and fugues in all major and minor keys, written as keyboard etudes. This clarinet quartet arrangement of the first prelude and fugue in C Major takes the single melody of the prelude and distributes it evenly amongst all four players. The fugue translates well to a group of four, as it’s already split into that many different voices. This piece will work for high-school-aged students and above and is a great introduction to the mastery of Bach.
